CFR Little League Newsletter

Welcome to the CFR Newsletter

November 2009

Dear CFR Little League Participant,

Welcome to the CFR Little League Newsletter. This year your CFR executive has decided to increase communication to our players and their parents through the introduction of this newsletter. The newsletter will provide timely updates on league results and upcoming events. The goal is to keep you informed about happenings within the league. We hope you enjoy reading about our league and find this new vehicle valuable.

President's Message

While the forecast will soon be for snow, the Executive for CFR are already trying to put together every facet to make this coming 2010 Baseball season a great one.

This year's Executive has quite a few new faces and a few familiar faces back in the fold. I would like to welcome all of these great volunteers. I know that all these people will bring a fresh perspective and do a great job for CFR and all its families.

The CFR Executive will be busy all winter getting ready and organized to try to bring you, and your family, a better experience. The focus this coming season will be on communication between the Executive, Coaches, volunteers and most of all the players and their families. We hope that you have a lot of fun this spring and enjoy making new and lifelong friends as you enjoy this baseball season. I hope to see everyone on the ball fields and I know that you will remember these times for the rest of your lives.

And Parents, please remember, this coming season will have many challenges for all of us at CFR.  There is much to do, so much help needed.  CFR needs everyone's help to make your child's experience with baseball as wonderful as it can be. There are a number of positions still vacant and need to be filled as soon as possible. Please don't wait for someone to approach you to get involved.  We are always looking for people to help.

No matter how trivial you might think your help would be, we are all volunteers and this organization needs whatever help you can give.

CFR Winter Baseball Program

Good news for baseball players looking for a chance to build their skills over the winter. CFR is running a Winter Baseball Program. We have secured a cast of talented instructors to keep our players in top form over the winter. Even as the snow covers our fields, our players will have a chance to work on their baseball skills. The 90-minute sessions start January 9 and run every Saturday until April 10. Cost is $75 for the 3-month session. Visit our website for more information on the program and registration information.

2010 Calendar of Events

Your CFR executive has been busy planning for the 2010 season.  You can find key dates and events for 2010 on the CFR website.

A Call for Volunteers

Though we have the core executive group for 2010, there are still numerous positions open. If you are interested in helping build a strong program for our neighbourhood children, please Contact us. We will gladly welcome your help.

Sponsorship Opportunities

Every year our league depends on local businesses to help cover operating costs through sponsorship of our league. If you know of a business that would be willing to provide financial assistance or donate goods or services to help our league, please contract our Director of Sponsorship.

Sincerely,

Your CFR Little League Executive
